Team Spica (チームスピカ, Chīmusupika) is one of Tracen Academy's umamusume teams and is only featured in the anime. Trainer is the trainer for Team Spica. Team Spica takes the place of the mobile game's Team Sirius.

At the beginning of Season 1, Team Spica is left drained of members, with a number of former members having chosen to leave the team over disagreements with Trainer. At one point prior to the start of the anime, the only member of Team Spica remaining was Gold Ship, but she was eventually joined by Vodka and Daiwa Scarlet.
As the anime begins, Special Week joins Team Spica as a newcomer to Tracen Academy, followed by Silence Suzuka, who departs Team Rigil to do so. The addition of Special Week and Silence Suzuka give Team Spica the number of members necessary to avoid disbandment.
Also during Seasons 1, Tokai Teio and Mejiro McQueen join the team. These two characters become the focus of Season 2. Season 3 opens with Kitasan Black joining Team Spica, becoming the lead character for that season.
As the anime opens, Team Spica is seen as a laughingstock among teams at Tracen Academy. However, as new members join and begin accruing G1 victories, the team's fortunes turn, and they become one of the academy's most popular teams.
