The world is full of possibilities! Yes, like me, a pearl!
―Seeking the Pearl

Seeking the Pearl (シーキングザパール, Shiikingu Za Paaru) is a character in Uma Musume: Pretty Derby.

Profile[]

Seeking The Pearl is a horse girl who doesn't just want to be a small speck in history. Having lived in many different countries growing up, she wants to show that with her body, anything in the world can happen. And she can prove it, delivering great results in short and mile races with a smile on her face.

She is also considered a big sister figure among younger horse girls because of her life. However, despite all her traveling, she actually doesn't speak English. She mitigates this comfortably by using body language.

Appearance[]

Seeking the Pearl is a horse girl with long brown hair. She has a pair of red sunglasses positioned on her forehead and has a unique sidelock on her left ear with a side attachment of small pearls under it. Her right ear also has a side attachment of small pearls. She has purple eyes.

  • She is terrified of lightning storms and grows quiet whenever the weather is bad.

Real Life[]

Nowadays, whenever 'strongest in Japan'-class racehorse is born, people talk about their expeditions.
However, in those days even challengers were few, and it had been thought winning foreign G1 was just a dream.
After those ages, the one who made it come true as a Japanese-trained horse was Seeking the Pearl, who won the Prix Maurice de Gheest in 1998.
―JRA-VAN[1]

Seeking the Pearl is a racehorse from the late 1990s. She is the first Japanese-trained horse to win a foreign G1.

  • She won a French G1 just a week before Taiki Shuttle won, finishing first in the Prix Maurice de Gheest.
    • Most fans expected Taiki Shuttle would be the first foreign G1 winner in Japanese horse, and few knew she had flown to Europe.
  • IRL Seeking The Pearl also traveled around a lot during her life. She was born in the US (internally, she went from ranch to ranch during auctions before settling into her owner's US base), was in Europe for a short time then traveled to Japan to begin her training. And even during her career, she traveled to France and the US to race.
  • She presumably died from a lightning strike.
