Cold… is that so? When my passion heats up it’ll be hot enough to burn you.
―Nakayama Festa

Nakayama Festa is a character in Umamusume: Pretty Derby.

Profile[]

A horse girl who possesses a unique, lone wolf personality. She loves solitude, and is a hard-boiled risk taker who finds fierce races to be her reason for existing. On the surface she shows little emotion, and never opens her heart to a trainer or lets them come near unless they prove themselves to be a true partner; only once she knows they "have each others' back" will she give them her strong confidence. Her hobby is horticulture. It seems she grows violets at her house.

Appearance[]

Real Life[]

My daughter loved Takarazuka Revue and often went there.
At first Festa was my daughter's horse. He fought well at the Derby (4th place), and won the St. Lite Kinen, making my daughter pleased.
However, she passed away because of an esophageal cancer last year[Note 1].
(an omission)
And I succeeded Festa. Although he is my horse in name, he is still my daughter's horse in my mind.
That's why our team's name is 'Violet Flower'.
―Shinichi Izumi, the owner[2]

Nakayama Festa is a racehorse in the early 2000s. He has the worst temper in Stay Gold's children, though, it was also a fighting spirit. He won a G1 Takarazuka Kinen and defeated Buena Vista, inverting his popularity,

  • Winning Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe of Japanese-trained horse has been the dream for Japanese fans and horsemen. Nakayama Festa ran in 2010, and lost in second by head. Fans say he was approached to win the closest of all Japanese horses.
  • In the end of 2009, his first owner Nobuko Izumi passed, and racing silk was changed.
  • His team for l'Arc de Triomphe was named Team Violet Flowers. First owner loved Takarazuka Revue, so her father, the second owner, named after a song title that represents the Revue[Note 2].
