Curren Chan is a character in Umamusume: Pretty Derby.

The selfie angel of Umastagram, Curren Chan is cute in every sense of the word. So cute that she can put anyone to their knees worshipping her cuteness. Already making a name for herself on social media, Curren Chan knocked on the doors of Tracen Academy in order to compete in the Twinkle Series and spread her cuteness around the entirety of Japan. She regards her trainer as an older sibling, calling them a big brother or sister.
Underneath all that cuteness, though, is a stubborn perfectionist who always makes sure every single aspect of her appearance and racing form is cute, from the outfit to her strides. She wanted to compete in the Triple Tiara because "it's cute!" but her trainer says that she's more suited for short distance races, making her pout and ask how anybody can pay attention to her if the race is only a few seconds long and less popular. However, Curren Chan takes this in stride and makes sure that she's the one who stands out the most in races. And when she accidentally trips in a race, she goes off the radar to decrease her shame and lack of preparation and even undergoes a waterfall ritual. In short, she's a perfect superhuman who plans efficiently for her success in any race. And this pays off well, as she shoots through race courses like a lightning bug. Nobody knows about this aspect of her personality except for her trainer, who she trusts a lot.
In her daily life, she likes taking selfies of her activities and becoming more cute. When she's not making puppy-dog eyes, she is surprisingly mature, giving advice and acting with grace whenever she is confronted. Her popularity is apparent even outside of Umastagram and she has tons of fans who admire her, and Curren Chan always makes sure to give them her attention when she can.
It is currently unclear how Curren Chan has grown into such a seamless person. She says that she was aware of her cuteness from the moment she was born...

- According to some sources, half of her top 10 favourite films are horror films.
- She skilfully uses the four famous social media networks - Umastagram, Umatter, Umatube and Umatook - and independently researches each famous horse girl.
- In the story events,she gives accurate advice to the troubled Yukino Bijin while dealing with her kindly, and even resolves a barren argument between Yukino and Gold City with a single word.
- She is one of the few horse girls, other than Special Week, to be transferred to Tracen Academy without having been born around the area. A limousine was used to take her to and from school when she transferred, suggesting that she was brought up in a wealthy family.
- She will only speak directly to those who treat her with malice or who do not understand her cuteness by 'talking' to them, which makes them immediately submissive to her. Depending on the choices made in the training event, the trainer may also fall prey to this story, which is called a 'study session'.

Curren Chan is a racehorse from the early 2010s. One of the best sprinters in the 21st Century that rivals Lord Kanaloa.
- Her name comes from the owner's daughter, Karen-chan. "Curren" is also Takashi Suzuki's crown name.
- She holds the highest status among mares and stallions treat mating with her as a sacred right. One example of this is Lord Kanaloa, who felt high and mighty after mating with her. Their daughter, Curren Moe, was a racehorse who just retired in 2022.
- Curren Chan was the only horse to treat jockey Kenichi Ikezoe with respect. He usually deals with the hard-to-handle horses most of the time, such as Sweep Tosho and, more famously, Orfevre.
- She is more of a puppy dog than a horse, allowing others to pet her and licking people's hands.
