Bamboo Memory is a character in Umamusume: Pretty Derby.

Profile[]

A horse girl with hot-blooded fighting spirit. Among the students at Tracen Academy she’s feared as the “Demon Chairman of the Public Morals Committee.” She’s a tomboy with a serious moral compass. She loves running, but doesn’t use tricks or anything, and her creed is to only defeat others in fair and direct head-to-head confrontations. Oguri Cap is her lifelong rival, and Bamboo Memory’s competitive spirit flares up whenever she’s nearby; however, Oguri Cap herself doesn’t seem to realize they’re rivals.

Bamboo Memory is a horse girl who has short brown hair with a white fringe in front, and also has turquoise-colored eyes. She wears a hachimaki with the words "One Dream" written across it. She also wears a turquoise-colored ear bow on her right ear.

  • Kiyoshi Sugimoto often designate a horse as "my dream[Note 1]" at Takarazuka Kinen. Bamboo Memory is the first horse that he designated.
    • Bamboo lost in the bottom and "his dream" was not granted. After that, most of his dreams were not granted.
  • In real life, Sugimoto said these lines after start. In Uma Musume, the commentator says before start.

  • The kanji in Her headband is 夢 (dream). It is a reference to Kiyoshi Sugimoto announcer's "my dream is..." series.

Bamboo Memory is a racehorse in the early 1990s. He is one of the greatest sprinters then, however, he ran in a severe rotation and fought at middle distance races. He is also known as one of Oguri Cap's rivals.

  • His trainer Kunihiko Take is his jockey Yutaka Take's father. Bamboo Memory is the first and last horse they together won a G1.
